Nordic ecolabelling

The Nordic Ecolabel is the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries, and is managed by the Norwegian Ecolabelling Foundation. The label is part of the worldwide Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN), which houses Type 1 ecolabels with ISO standard 14024 guidelines.

Nordic Ecolabelled hotels and other accommodation have operate on low energy consumption, use chemicals with low environmental impact, and work actively to reduce waste and water consumption.

A Nordic Ecolabelled business must meet ambitious environmental requirements and have taken a holistic approach to environmental work related to energy, water, food, waste, biodiversity, chemicals and purchasing. The business must work in a structured and active way to reduce its consumption of resources and optimize its operations.
