For body and soul
Experience the beloved Norwegian sauna tradition with a sauna on the sea. Enjoy a fully heated sauna, with great bathing opportunities and a panoramic window facing the hotel's iconic harbour.
Give yourself a moment of wellness, where you can combine the health-giving contrast of warm air and cooling water — whatever the season.
From the covered deck to the cosy sauna — the floating sauna is set up for a complete experience on the sea.
The entrance is a covered deck with a long bench and a shoe rack. The deck offers plenty of room for bathing in the sea, and has two bathing ladders on each side of the raft.
The entrance to the sauna has a changing area with long storage benches, lockers and several shelves for your personal belongings. There is also a small fridge here, which can keep your own drinks cool.
The sauna room has a two-tier L-shaped bench facing a beautiful view through the window and the sauna stove. A thermometer hangs on the wall, and a bucket of fresh water is provided.
The heart of the bathing ritual is the contrast between heat and cold. Start in the fully heated sauna, let the warmth sink into your body, and then step straight out into the sea from the deck's bathing ladders.
Repeat the cycle two or three times, and feel your circulation rise, tension release and a deep calm settle in. With the window facing the harbour, you can enjoy the wellness whatever the season — whether it is a summer swim or an ice bath in the winter dark.
The sauna is open for booking for everyone. Book 90 minutes in the shared sauna here. There is room for up to 12 people at a time for each 90-minute slot.

Anyone can book the floating sauna — you do not need to be a hotel guest or harbour guest to reserve.
The raft can be booked from 08:30–21:00 daily, all year round. Every booking is for 90 minutes, and the duration cannot be changed. If you would like a longer session, look for available slots you can book back to back.
You and your party have exclusive use of the sauna and the bathing platform for the reserved 90 minutes. Reservations can only be made through Havna Hotel & Sjøbad's website.
When you reserve online, everything is ready. If you have further questions, however, you can call the hotel reception.
On arrival at the hotel, you collect the physical key to the sauna at the hotel reception. The key is returned to the hotel reception before your booking time ends.
You have 24 hours' free cancellation. If you do not show up or cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged the full price.
You can be up to 12 people at a time on the floating sauna — this is the combined number both outside and inside.
You may pour more water over the stove if you want more steam and humidity in the sauna. Do not pour salt water over the sauna stove — it cannot tolerate it and may rust and be damaged. Use the fresh water in the bucket. If damage is found after use, you may be charged a repair fee.
There are toilet and shower facilities at the camping area available to you until 15 September. From 15 September to 15 April you are welcome to use the toilet in the hotel lobby.
We measure the bathing temperature all year round. Check the temperature on Yr.no for bathing temperatures in Vestfold.
